Reeds for Beginners

These are oboe reeds that have been handmade using carefully selected cane from the South of France. Cane for an oboe reed for a beginner should be softer than for a more advanced player to ensure freedom and a relaxed way of blowing. We also pay attention to the aperture, making sure it is not too open, thus discouraging any unnecessary biting. It is also imperative for us to produce a reed that is easy to blow, while remaining stable and having a pleasant core to the sound. Playing the oboe should be fun, and with a good reed that doesn't cause too much unhealthy exertion, it can be.
